Line twist issues when drop shotting
I have learned that drop shotting here on Lake Barkley catches bluegill and more importantly, shellcrackers. The problem arises when I drop shot and the line starts to kink and twist below my split shot. I typically use the old school slip float/split shot/hook setup. After maybe ten drops, my 2lb SOS line starts kinking and twisting directly under my split shot.
From what I've read, I really need to use braid mainline with a top shot of fluorocarbon line. It said a small swivel with this setup will eliminate this twist. Thoughts?
What kind of JDM braid and fluorocarbon should I try? Prefer 3lb test...
