A Few From Today
Full moon in late April, went in search for bedding Gills even though I knew our water temperatures were still low-62-65. Gills like it a bit warmer to actually bed here, but they still have to eat right. Well everyone else was hungry today as well, and early on it was everything but....Attachment 399721

Bait of choice today was the Berkeley Gulp 1in Minnow on a 1g jig head. Tiny minnows and fry were skipping everywhere up shallow, so match the hatch I did and it paid off nicely.

These guys were definitely searching out some bedding areas, found them in front of a gravel driveway that will be underwater soon. Caught 12, released all but 5 as the wife requested Fish Tacos. You can check out their obvious fate on the Cooking Crappie board. Size was awesome and the fight was even better. Attachment 399725 Attachment 399726
It is just starting here, will get better as the water warms. Get out there, fish are biting!

Nice gills. Even here in middle Georgia on the water I’m fishing it seems the fish are just a little bit behind the full moon. May should be on fire.

Beautiful bluegills....I need to find some like that!

Those gills are chunks, reminds me of those coppernose out in California. Nothing wrong with saving a few for tacos. Gills make the best fish tacos.

Water is about 58 here in middle TN, so we are a little behind you. They are starting to move in though. Been catching a few nice shellcrackers so far. Next several weeks should be great.

Like your water, ours is 62-65 degrees here too. I wanna get out and look for beds on my Helix 9 with SI. Hadnt had it but for a few months so I'm a little excited. Nice gills. Congrats.:)
