I didn’t realize that DI went out to the sides. Still looking for more information on Mega performance in muddy bayou water. Does anyone have Mega+? How does it compare to Mega in muddy shallow water?

Art you might want to ask that question in the fishing electronics board. There is a fellow on there that keep up with all the new fishing electronic technology, I'm sure he could answer all your questions.

BTW ... that HELIX pic above was my cousin thought he had an interference issue ...
I recommended he try a lower frequency (because of all the pollen in the water) = the cloudy went away in the image ...
So remember - if you see pollen floating at the boat ramp water’s edge - MEGA may not be the best frequency that day ...
Mud doesn’t seem to affect the MEGA frequency as much as pollen, plankton or algae ...

Just to add to Rickies comment on debris in the water affecting the image.
A lot of people miss that you can quickly cycle thru your frequencies just by pressing the little check mark button rather than going through the menus, so you can see the differences.
I like to hunt on 455 hz at 75+ ft out and if I find something interesting will swing back around and press the check mark button to bump to the Mega frequency for a more detailed view.
