A Little Early Morning Play Time

Been waking up between 1:30 and 2:00 on the AM side of things now for a bit now. So trying to be quite, I went to my tying table...here's what I've came up wit...Attachment 398561

Nice looking jigs and a good variety. I've tied quite a few jigs myself in the early am. One thing I would do is start tying 2-3 of a color instead of singles because I learned from experience is that the hot color jig catching all the fish will get lost and you don't have a replacement. I lose a lot of jigs so I tie multiples of everything.

Agree one needs to tie more than singles, just taking out and putting back up each color is time wasted when doing singles. That is what most like to sell jigs 4 or 5 to a pack. If they didn't do that they would spend more time taking out color and putting them back away than tying.

I have each color of Hackle in a qt ziplock and inside there I have sandwich ziplocks with different parts in them, like one for the V's I didn't use and even the end after I cut the tip and V's in a separate sandwich ziplock. That way I have all the Hackle and parts in one bag. So I have to pull out a bag and take the Hackle out, cut them up and tie and after fished put it all back away. I like the ones that want 50 or more of a color, lol! Actually just tied 70 for a friend all the same color, Silver/Copenhagen Blue/White.

Nice jigs. I always tie in groups of 3 now and found that's what works for me.... until I lose all 3 :banghead

Actually If I had the time I would probably do groups of 6 or even a dozen each of my best colors.

nice... Hate it when I can't sleep, if it wasn't for work getting in the way it wouldn't matter.

Grumpy, I was a cook in the Army for more than 16 yrs till Bill Clinton screwed 160,000 of us between '91-'92 with their draw down and base closers...shift work most of it. 1st day in at 11am, done when ever, sometimes after midnight, the next day in at 3:30 am out after cooks meeting at 1300, (1pm), then back in at 1100 the next day and rinse and repeat. On week-ends it was every other week-end. ALL day both days...O330-till when ever, and MON. morning at 0330 till after cooks meeting.
Ration man was the best job. Now you worked everyday, that's for sure, but once everything was done, you were usually outta their...
Was the Battalion night baker for a while too... 1700, (5pm)-0500, (5am). Got called back in a lot for meetings, and special assignments.
I said all that to say, sometimes I only get 3-4 hrs of sleep because I can't lay in bed awake, and I just don't sleep like I should because even after being out 29 yrs. I'm still not adjusted to the outside world....But that is a good thing...

Skip, Grumpy, Dave and junglejim believe me when I say, I also tye in multiples. Sometimes 2 or three each if it's a new to me combo, but if it's tried and true, I'm tying 5-10 each at a time. I just don't put multiples of the same color in the pictures...
Skip, yes I'm starting to like the winged jigs. One they produce fish, and two, not many around here even use hand tied jigs...not sure why. I'm sure their are, but when I go to the bridge fishing, (my local spot not too far from the house), seems everyone is using plastics. I've given away countless jigs over the three years I've lived here.
Anyway thank you all for the friendly advice on the multiples...As well as the compliments on the jigs. It really is a boost to keep going on a regular basis...
