Not many post lately. Was wondering how's the bite at Jordan?
I was there earlier in the week. Water was in the upper 50s to low 60s. I was fishing the Fearrington Point area, back in the creeks. Fish were either on the bottom or within a few feet of the bottom, at least where I was fishing. I’m sure you can find some much shallower further back in the creek.

Any reason they've not moved to spawning waters?
Many of the fish have already spawned. Last Saturday we fished in 67 degree water in one of the creeks. Just about every team had caught fish that had spawned out. Today was totally different--same place fishing and the temperature was 50. I don't think I have ever fished when the water temp dropped 17 degrees in one week. We caught one that had not spawned, but most were small males. Been some nice crappie caught on Jordan the past month.
I caught 60 or more yesterday, lost count. They weren't shallow at all. But the males were spewing when they came out of the water and the females were partially spawned out, but not completely. I took a 2 quarts of roe from 10 girl fish. I don't eat it, but my bride fries it and loves it.
In answer to the original question, the major run is probably over.
