I’ve looked at GoPro and Campark action cameras for making video of fishing trips. Any input, pro or con on either of them? Looking at the GoPro 7 pretty hard. Thanks in advance.

I’ve owned multiple GoPros over the years. Unless you’re making some cutting edge video, don’t worry about buying the latest abs greatest. There are lots of perfectly fine refurbished and used models available on eBay and elsewhere for a fraction of the price. You can probably purchase at least 2 slightly older models for the price of one new one at retail.
Don’t forget how you want to mount / wear it. Most people usually like to wear one camera and mount a second facing them or behind them. It gives you more options later when editing and you won’t always catch all of the action with a single camera. Amazon usually has the best prices abs selection for cheap mounts. The Go Pro brand mounts are very expensive and aren’t typically worth the premium price vs the generic ones.
Finally, buy a few extra batteries for each camera and a high capacity memory card. You go through batteries quickly, especially when it gets hot!

Is 3 batteries per camera enough? I’ve looked at generic batteries that come with 3 batteries and a case charger for them. I’ll have to look for some used cameras. My trips are usually short, like 3 to 5 hours. Thanks
Three batteries will be enough...it all depends on how you record....looping.....constant....what resolution. Of course I’m talking GoPro....I tried some of the 50 dollar cameras early on and they did not work out for me. I also tried several brands of generic batteries for the GoPro as I did not want to pay the price for GoPro branded batteries. Every generic battery I bought would swell and you could not get them out of the camera after it heated up.....and even after it cooled the batteries were still too tight a fit. So I gave up on generic batteries.Quote:

Another camera to consider is Tacta cam Fish I. Works great
