Took a few hours in the afternoon to get out in the sun and give it a try. Fish were in 7 FOW out in front of the boat ramp. Tried spider rigging and not really doing well at it, so I threw a few lines out the back longline style, that changed the dynamics of the trip. Caught 14 fish, all white crappie, 6 of them measured. Orange jig head with black and chartreuse southern pro grub was the ticket at 1.0 mph. They were all small bucks, the bucket had that funky crappie spawning smell to it when I went to clean them. The fish were still very light colored so not on the beds yet, and no bloody tails. Water temp was 59 when I pulled out. Hope the young fella that I helped remove a hook from his ear at the ramp is doing okay. Looked like it hurt and he had been trying to get it out with no luck. Bent the barb down and backed it out for him.
