For sure! But not like deep fried crappie.
My best air fryer results are from using a thicker breading like panko crumbs. The air fryer does not work as well with corn meal in my opinion as the corn meal doesn't crisp up like it would deep fried.
If you like baked/broiled fish it is awesome. Throw a piece of salmon in there with some olive oil and garlic salt and it is so good make you wanna slap yo mamma!
I have had very good results using Louisiana Air Fryer seasoned coating mix for fish. It’s not exactly like deep fried but cleanup is very easy and I have also used the Louisiana for pork and chicken and they are very good also. My wife wanted a simple analog type fryer to experiment with. We found an Insignia brand at Best Buy. It has a temperature knob and a timer knob, it’s 5qt and she loves it. It does a fine job with warming pizza.

I'm still experimenting but I've had pretty good results by coating the fillet with mayo then panko and turning the fillet so both sides cook well.
Funny, I was just thinking of getting one myself. If it's a bit healthier than pan frying and tastes good I may try it. What features and brands are preferred? (: Keep in mind that I'm a bit of a frugile fisherman. :)
Too close to lunch to look at all this good food
To me, it's more than just trying to be healthy. As my wife and I have aged, we have lost our ability to digest fried foods. We both have to be very careful to make sure that any fried foods have to be eaten very early in the day (and even then, they can cause issues). By using the air fryer, we can get the same flavor but significantly minimize digestive issues.
