Yep the evil little beggers are out in force already. My wife picked 3 off her and I found my first of the year. Time to break out the anti tick potion.

Whew! We have a ways to go here before we get to those rotten critters. I sometimes feel like a magnet when I pick them up. Sometimes I even see them crawling up my waders when I’m in the water. A few friends have gotten Lyme disease, and that is nothing to take lightly.

UGH!
Stay ever vigilant, nasty little critters for sure.
Thanks for the reminder. I made myself a reminder on my phone to spray my turkey hunting clothes with Permethrin before I head to Florida for a hunt in three weeks.

Bob,
Its all about temperatures. I run beagles year round in Pa. It is not unusual to have deer ticks out in February when you get a warm day. It is a year round problem these days.
Pre-treat your clothing with Permethrin and you'll be good to go. The effectiveness will last for a couple of machine washings. Don't forget your socks too. I also use DEET on my exposed skin.
Using Permethrin, will last more than just a couple washings. I did a post about ticks last year, with a lot of info. My son works for the gas company, and has gotten so bad here, that the company is buying them clothes to wear, that has them already treated. Here is the link
