Kayak Trip Report, Limestone Bay/Creek
I couldn't stand to miss another nice day, so I took Wednesday off work. I fished Limestone from about 7:30AM till dark, beautiful day on the water! Picked up a few single pole, but most came off a jig and bobber. Best bait was a Chartreuse Bobby Garland on a 1/32oz jig head about 12 to 18 inches under a bobber. I kept 12 and released four that were over 12 inches. Tossed back a couple dozen short fish. The Crappie numbers are low in the upper end with the fish not moving in yet, but there are a few. The water was 46 degrees when I started and it had warmed to 54 degrees by late afternoon.
Two other anglers were kayak fishing and three more bank fishing the pits, all caught a few!
