Grass Shrimp

First year chasing speck and loving it. Majority of my speck have been slap full of grass shrimp. My question is for those of yall that have used grass shrimp for bait, how did you go about using them? Multiple on a hook? Slip bobber? Had good luck using them?

Appreciate the advice! (Central Florida area)

I used them up north near the ocean when fishing for trout,,,they worked crazy good for trout,,, zi used to just use multiple shrimp on a small hook and Carolina rig setup,,,when the trout hit it,they wouldn’t feel resistance and the line would start peeling out I knew I had a fish,,, didn’t usually take long with grass shrimp,,they loved them,,,, I’d check with state laws first to see if it’s legal though,,,,some guys even use dead grass shrimp,,,. Mine were readily available via the local marina,,, just swiped the grass along side of the docks and filled a bucket quick,,,

There were several threads on here about salting the tiny salad shrimp, drying them, cutting them into small pieces and using them like crappie nibbles on jigs or just by themselves.
Also, one post mentioned using the tiny little guys that come in cans, located in the Vienna weenie section of your grocery mart.

Lots of guys use around here, but first, Welcome from Debary. Many ways to use em, but you gotta have the right net. Small mesh and up into the weeds, you’ll learn which weeds are best as you do it more. I’ve been taken to school by a guy using grass shrimp after I had fished where he was. Get the net and a bucket and start your way around the learning curve.

They work best live I found,,,because when they startakickin. Drives fish crazy

I fished them a lot as a kid on Okeechobee. We always just used one on a hook under a float and small split shot. The same rig we fished minnows on.

I wish I could put a mayfly on a hook round here. Probably work just as well

Fuzzy,,,, did you catch a lot of crappie with them?
