NE Texas [Lake O Pines]
I just retired a year ago and have the chance to get a couple lots in Harleton Texas by Lake O Pines. Is this a good area ? I am not interested at all in Florida and am not afraid of a little cold weather either. We fish reservoirs where I'm from mostly so I would like to stick with that. East Texas has a lot of Lakes on my bucket list too ! Still love to green carp fish but target the crappies a lot more in my old age !

LOP is a spot that is flat full of large crappie ....
its on the list of as good as lake Fork in these parts
Fork might be the better place if you like large bass too.
i dont know about the greenfish in LOP
i do know lots a BIG crappie come out of Lake Of the Pines and many folks around here will drive half a day or more to hit it in the winter

Buy there if you like fishing!! I was supposed to be driving back home from there today, 10 hour drive. Didn’t work out, but I can’t imagine anyone who loves to fish wouldn’t like that lake
