Florida Trifecta aka West Side story
To say that 2020 has gone out with a BANG for me would be grossly understated!
Years ago the Skipper with his Gilligan crew set out for their infamous 3 hour tour
so this week to end this unprecedented year, I set out for a 3 DAY TOUR.:Rofl Beginning with the launch @noon Monday and ending with the crimson sunset last nightAttachment 391881 Last week I mentioned that the DOA shrimp Glow color was a great producer for me so I decided to create my own version(Doug'sOwnAdaptation)Attachment 391880 It performed very well but did a SLOW, unweighted drop compared to the original that is mid-body weighted. I now have a weighted version, too!:Rofl
Putting this escapade into proper perspective, I have recently reached the 7th inning of Life and to do my mostly non-stop artificial casting is relevant. Being the only one responsible for all aspects of each 5 - 10 hour trip should indicate how arduous a 1 day's trip can be...now 3 DAYS in a row!!:yikes Guess it shows my obsession no doubt.:bash Water temp started @ramp @ 59 degrees and would increase by 3 - 4 degrees throughout the day. The bite would increase accordingly throughout the day as well. Quick note on my BayBcakes had me reinventing the wheel with making unseasoned(au natural) LF cakes into scallop shapes because I think they have a similar bite characteristicAttachment 391883:ThumbsUp = Nice brain trick! Monday's results were cozy good but Tues/Wed were "off the chain":highfiveAttachment 391882Attachment 391879 Wed. I caught easily 15-20 reds with largest kept !9". Bluefish showed up, as well as 8 - 10 trout tail-section bite offs via shark!! Plenty ladyfish to scrape up into scallops as well rounded out the 3 day adventure. Incidentally, FWC's new trophy size 19"> is per VESSEL NOT per Angler per day!!:juggle
'til next time
