I’m trying some new to me silicone stuff called Squirmy Wormy. I usually add a live worm to my squirrel tail jigs. As “flowy” as this stuff is, if the fish don’t tear it off it should work. It’s a pain to work with. It’s hard to tie on and the thread won’t lay flat.

That looks lively! At that length are you worried about short strikes?
No idea. This is uncharted territory for me. They are very small in diameter, so my thinking is that they'll inhale the whole thing. If not, I'll pinch some off. That's a 1/32 ounce head and #6 hook for reference.Quote:

Been using it for several years on trout flies. It will break off right where it comes out from under the thread. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t tie them until the day before going fishing. They will break off just sitting in fly box. Not durable at all.
I hope there's a way to make it work because it has incredible action. I tried it for a few minutes today while crappie fishing.Quote:
