My left running light is very dim, the right is good, brake and turning lights on both sides are good. Have checked the voltage at the plug and have 12volts. Not much money to replace but would like to know there lights work.

Check the voltage at the light itself. You could be getting voltage drop in the wire. If you are still getting 12V there, then I'm going to lean towards a bad LED. While LED lights themselves are supposed to burn for a LONG time, the electronics that drive them aren't so tough. When they go, they go and there isn't any thing you can do about it other than replace.
I’d start by swapping left to right and see if it burns brighter. And double check it’s ground at same time.
I had the same issue. Turned out to be the light assembly. It had water getting in and ruined the light. Not that it helps but I unplug my lights now prior to backing in the water.

Just swap the wires on that side to see if the light is dim on brake or turn signal.
It will be your ground! While you are seeing 12 volts, the bad ground is causing enough resistance to not allow the LED to come up to full amperage. My guess is that you are relying on the trailer as your ground path. You can do that, but I always recommend running a ground wire to every light. If you are using the trailer as ground, remove the light, clean the paint and rust off where the light mounts, use some dielectric grease and reattach. But as I indicated before, best solution is to run a ground wire from the connector back to each light.
Thanks for all the replys, when i started checking i took a buffing wheel an cleaned where the ground wire hooked to the frame. Each light has a ground wire. The trailer has never been wired right i would get in the truck and turn the blinkers on and hit the brakes off i would go. What i did not know was i have not had running lights for the 6 years i have had this boat. When i lost everything i started checking, someone had the left binker and running lights wired together. When i seperated them i had running light on the right but very weak on the left. I put the led lighs on and the place i bought them said if not damaged they would replace at no charge.I going to work with the ground one more time then take the light back. Long winded....
most of the time it seems it's a ground problem
