Is anyone doing any good now fishing the Ohio River and it’s creeks for crappie and sauger? Or fishing below the Meldahl or Markland dams?
Thanks

I can speak for Kentucky river between lock 2-4. Crappie good with larger fish showing up in the last 2 weeks. Have started catching sauger off creek mouths last 2 weeks. Nothing huge just good skillet fish but they have started.

I've been stuck doing home renovations the last month but hope to get out this Sunday to the OH. River creeks (Markland pool) and fish most of December if the weather permits.
Interesting to hear about Kentucky River. I only spent one day fishing there a couple years back (I put in at the ramp in Gratz). I caught some crappie. Lots of smaller bass. I would love to spend more time fishing it for crappie. There was a decent amount of structure between lock #2 and the ramp but never have had the chance to get back there and try it again.

Sauger are biting along the Ohio river. Catching more keepers this year than last so maybe the 14" minimum length is doing what it was intended to do.
We don’t have them in my neck of the woods in NW Pennsylvania
cannelton pool oil cr to sinking cr lots of big crappie 1.5-2 lb limits most days different limits ky or ind did get skunked in poision cr wed . no sauger yet
Catching a few sauger at McAlphine lower. Still a little early but won’t be long!!
