last trip of year to Raccoon 11/5/20
On water at 730 off 1130..Water temp 53-54deg, fish were hitting good but for most part very lightly, we should of caught close to a 100 for all the ones missed or hooked and fell off.. ended up with 45 caught 31 kept.. they are draining lake now and its down a lot, in another few days doubt if would be able to launch pontoon anymore so calling it a year plus deer are going at it hot and heavy now.
All fish were caught on 1/32 oz or 1/16 oz jig with Snake Rivers new weedless bodies in Chart, love this bait crappie tear it up. Most were caught in 20-32ft water or near it down about 12-15ft, got pretty choppy when we left at 1130 making hits hard to detect. Every piece of wood near any deep water had fish on it hitting today some a lot others 2 or 3.
Been a decent year for having a late start, last year went out 19 times this year 23.. last year caught 964/984 crappie this year I believe a few over 700 maybe a bit more haven't added all up yet.
Sure wish lake had bigger crappie numbers like it did 20-25 yrs ago but a great lake for eating size fish/numbers. Also last year fished a lot of 6-8 hr days this year were all 4.5 hrs or less.
Went back and checked and caught 745 crappie from Raccoon, bank fishing local lake caught another 200-300 also.
