It was much harder today after the rain. Limestone was muddy and about 6 inches higher than last week, 58 degrees and visibility of about half a foot. The Crappie were in the same areas with most coming off a 1/64oz spinner with a 1" slider body. I did find a few single pole jigging isolated cover. I still managed to take home 27 with maybe a couple dozen short fish returned. The water had warmed to 62 degrees by 4PM. Photo's tomorrow when I clean them.

Limestone should be really good again by the end of the week. Not sure if I'll get back from a work trip in time to get on the water next weekend. Work always gets in the way of fishing, LOL!

Most of these were loaded with baitfish again.
About half are larger than I normally keep, but a coworker wanted some fish.
For those worried about Gators, I haven't seen my fishing buddy the last couple trips. He may have moved off to his wintering hole in one of the old pits cut off from the main creek.
Between work and the time change I don’t know what I’ll do. Lol. Awesome catch as usual. I had finally got my mind right about the gators. I trust y’all that it’s not a worry. But still don’t know what I’d do if he came up close to me. LolQuote:

I'm just fishing where the other fisherman aren't.
There was another kayak angler chasing green carp in the afternoon. I didn't see him catch anything big, but he seemed to be catching two and three pounders one after another. I released three channel cats in the 5 pound range and caught several skipjack that were between 12 and 15 inches. I've never caught one of those before, plus the typically small gills everywhere.
Is there a place to launch kayak from a
trailer?
