Help me with trolling motor ability

Due to memory loss from my brain injury I need to ask your help. I have a boat very similar to a 17' tracker bass boat that I have not used in about 20 years. It is equipped with a Minn kota Auto pilot 36 lb thrust. I also have a 40 lb thrust Motorguide that I could use. It's only a 40hp on the back. For the life of me I don't remember howvwell that size tm pulls that boat. I will be only using it once I get into coves or points. Can you give me a clue ? I think it should be fine but can't remember.

I use a 55# 12v on my 17 ft. And it will do 1.7 mph at 85%. I think you will be fine with 40lb

I have a 33 lb thrust trolling motor on my 17 ft ranger and on max it will do 2 mph. If i am in wind over 10-12 mph I have to think about where I can fish and have to find a cove out of the wind some days.
