Sad Day At Our House...
Yesterday (Monday-10/5) we took our precious 15 year old cat to the Vet to check out a bump on his leg. After a good examination, the Vet said he has cancer all over. He was checked a month ago and it was not there. Vet said he was in extreme pain. We knew what we had to do. It would be selfish to make him suffer any longer. So, with heavy hearts, and lots of tears, we said our goodbyes. He lies in a special spot in our backyard. This cat was our Son that dictated the most part of our lives. We will mourn him for many days. For those of you that have gone thru this, I am sure you understand. A part of us just died. The house is lonely and empty...We are just happy that we have each other..

I know exactly what your going through. Its hard to deal with.I have a cat that was tossed out in my yard at 3 weeks old.Its the only cat I actually felt sorry for so we allowed her to adopt us, 13 years later she is still head of household.I dread the day I may have to make that decision.I's sorry for your loss but you have the memories...And the unconditional love from a pet..

Sorry to hear that Bruce. I always wait two weeks and then go get a kitten. The last one I got my wife told me not to get one....i waited untill she went out of town....when she came home I had a new kitten there. That was two years ago and my wife likes it better than any cat we ever had.

I've been through it many times with both dogs and cats, so I know exactly how hard it is... and it seems it never gets any easier.
It's truly like losing a beloved family member. Thoughts and condolences are with you and your family.

That’s a day all us pet owners dread. When Buddy starts to slow way down, I’ll get a puppy.
Hope it’ll help the transition.
