Loving my boats
I just never thought that I would love boat ownership as much as I do. Trying to get everything back in shape for the upcoming season. Put a new depth finder mount on boat and rewired live scope to a single battery when I found out my Garmin had died. Going to send back to factory to see if they can fix. That ain't all been unable to get pontoon to crank so finally able to get it out of the water and take to a mechanic no good news. Seems that it broke a timing chain and blew the motor up. Cost more to repair than motor is worth so I will put a new Suzuki 140 on it in the very near future. Don't you just love boat ownership.

Keeping a boat operational and up to date is a never ending drain on the check book. Seems like its always a couple hundred for this and then worst case for you, thousands for a new motor. Got to pay to play I guess. That must have been an older 4 stroke that broke a timing chain. I think the newer 4 strokes are non interference engines so they don't explode if you break a timing chain.
Spent 4 to 5 hours with my new rig on Murray today just running sidescan and DI mapping out some new areas. Sometimes that's just as fun as fishing. Get your rig ready, water Temps are coming down.

It was a 2004 Suzuki 4 stroke. I still have my other boat to fish out of.

I hear you Don. I have a 2006 40hp Mercury. Spent 3,500 on maintenance. Runs good had to put 3 charging systems on it.

You'll be quite! My motor is a 1999 90 Johnson and I'm scared as it is. Hate problems also Don, I hope you get it going soon.

Sorry for the trouble. I spent yesterday putting a new bilge pump and auto switch on mine . But you didn’t go wrong with a Suzuki! Miss mine big time. If I had your money or Dawggs money I would buy me a new one.
