Had that happen to me several decades ago. Wasn't on the hookset, though. I hooked the fish in a brush pile and he just didn't want to come out (or couldn't) so I tried to break the line & just give him the jig ... the line didn't break, but his lower jaw did & came in with the jig. Felt bad about it, but I did try to break the line. Just wasn't his day, I reckon.
