Gave the usual spotted ones a break on Sunday and went out to Vermilion Bay with my son. He's not as interested in jigging for sacalait but loves a crabbing/shrimping trip. Went to one of the weirs out in the bay and dropped four traps and got about 3.5 dozen before the tide died around 10 a.m. Back home and boiling crabs by noon!
Heard that the speckled trout and reds are in the bay but didn't bring fishing poles to check on that.

Those things are worth their weight in gold, almost. Some dang good eating but the price gives me heartburn.
