Yamaha outboard question...

I have a 250 hp Yamaha HPDI series 2. Last couple of times I used it, the chime would go off and it would kick into safe mode (won’t rev up). It would do this just for a minute or less, then run fine the rest of the day both times. First time was when I was goosing it up loading on the trailer. Second two time were when I first got there. Again, ran fine the whole day after that. Oil tank is full, and water psi is good. Anyone ever experienced this? Thanks.

Abe, check your trim gauge sender plugs on the starboard side of the motor. If the wires get chaffed, it could trigger a false low oil alarm. The next thing they recommend is to check to see if an oil filter is clogged. Since the alarm is only intermittent, it almost sounds like a high temp issue
