I haven't fished for crappie for several years. Used to be when I fished for crappies I'd primarily use minnows on a slip bobber.
Anything new or better nowadays?
Thanks,
John

when it gets right down to it there's no one BEST BAIT any time any place it can change everyday. Some days it's still minnows and slip bobber other days it'll be hand tied jigs and another day plastics. Most carry a small variety of the different baits and change them around until they find what they're hitting on that day.
Pulling pico's and flickershads have been working
Thanks for the replies.

Fished Missy this morning trolling crank baits and did pretty good. Trolled mostly at 1.7 mph. I used arkie cranks and Berkley flicker shads. My dad used some old rapala and other things. Seemed to pretty much hit about anything. Got a few nice ones. One 14 incher at 1.2 lbs that after looking at past tournament results would have got 2 second place for both days in the results I looked at. It wasn't on fire but it was decent for August.
