I have a Helix 5 with Side imaging. I know it only runs up to 455mhz and not 800mhz.
However, I have seen some research showing that upgrading to the HDSI transducer versus the standard compact SI transducer could drastically help with my clarity on Side Imaging. I’ve already been struggling with it being not as clear as I would like.
What do you all think?
I'd say the problem is more the small screen than the transducer.
A 7" is almost too small to really be useful.
Transducer placement can have an effect too, they recommend putting it in the middle of the boat, but I moved mine to the outside corner, and it has never worked better. Even reads on plane now.
