Check out the report from Ole River Morganza, no one had a positive report heck I even posted on it. But you never know unless you go that's the saying, right. Well I got there early, had to turn on the running lights to make my way to the flats on the S end of the oxbow. The water was the cleanist I've found anywhere. After getting 3 of my 8 rods set out I had a sacalait surfing behind the boat, ok this is going to be a good day and he was about 10" so he got released. Then my morningmare started it was one garfish after another in that spot some times multiple hookups and tangles, time to make a move. Second third and fourth spot was the same thing more garfish even ran to the N end of the lake to try to get away from them. No such luck I was even thinking a catfish or a goo would be a change. One thing for sure is garfish L O V E crankbaits of any size and color. No exaggeration I probably caught 30 plus of these suckers, I never caught another crappie all morning.
