My 2015 merc 115 4s only slows to 3.0 mph. Anyone have suggestions on how to get to 1.2-1.7? Is there a idle adjustment? Pro's or con's on a trolling plate
EasyTroller Trolling Plate | Ironwood Pacific ? I have a Ultrex but have never used the remote. Do I need to learn how? Thanks
The Ultrex is every thing you need. Two minutes of practice with the remote and you will be trolling like a pro.
I use electric as well. Remote works pretty well, but I have a Terrova.
I run 1.5-3 mph. Slower in cold water and I really burn 'em in the summer and fall.
Drag a drift sock.
Use your ultrex....the remote is easy
But what kind of battery life will he get on a full charge?Quote:

Ken....my Terrova is 24 volt 80 lb thrust....i use two group 31 batterys...i can pull cranks at 1.8 mph for 8 hrs and still have battery left. I used a Troll a matic trolling plate for 5 years on a 115 four stroke....but the Terrova is lots better and easier.Quote:

We have an ulterra tm and it does a great job trolling. Your ultrex should really do the job you want. One thing we don't know is what size boat you have. The Ultex no doubt especially if you are linked to a Humminbird. Follow contours and the whole nine yards!!
I had an 80lb on a tritoon with two group 31's and could pull cranks 6-7 hours no problem at all.
