Have any of you guys seen the new pan optics trolling motor mount? They turn the transducer sideways. It looks like it enlarges the cone. The picture looks similar to the 360's but live. Any thoughts switching your mount out to this? Thanks for any replies. Jim

The "Perspective" mount does indeed turn the Livescope transducer on its side, but I don't think it changes the cone angle any. What it does do is turn the cone on its side, so you're reading a horizontal 20deg swath of water instead of a vertical 20deg swath of water.
I can see it as a benefit for very shallow water, since the vertical mounted transducer will show the bottom rising as you get into shallow water and the amount of screen above the bottom image would be pretty small ... so seeing fish in only a few feet of water may be difficult. I don't know for sure, personally, because I have my Livescope transducer set for vertical forward view as I don't fish in real shallow water .... plus I've only used mine a couple of times and haven't even got it totally set up like I want it.
My transducer is also set forward. It hasn't helped me catch fish. Yet. Watching my lure going up and down is "cool" for a little while. My lake average is 6'(shallow). I want to get better at this. How do I become a Crappiepappy? LOL I'm crappy at everything already.
Probably need to get perspective mount and run in perspective mode to fish that shallow. not going to get full benefit of livescope in water that shallow but it will help you find structure which should equal fish this time of year. Scott
Don't feel too bad ... I've only had mine out on the water twice (one short day trip & one short night trip) and so far have only caught 2 dink Crappie & a 13" Bass (day trip). I skunked out on the night trip. :bashQuote:

One thing the Perspective mode software update will do is put a boat/beam icon in the upper right of your screen. That will show you the direction and coverage area of the "ping" in relation to the boat (as seen in this picture) :

(I sure would like to have that icon on my Livescope screen, as it would make it a whole lot less cumbersome to know where my transducer is pointing without having to look down at the direction arrow all the time. :Doh: )

I have tried the perspective view a few times and I just can not give up my forward view. It was okay in less than 10ft of water, but over that you are missing a big slice of the water under the beam when using it.
