Nice! I lived in Southern Massachusetts for 4 years. The only crappie I ever caught were very small. I hope you keep trying and find larger fish. On the other hand, I used to have fun fishing the creeks and streams for trout. Mostly used a spinning outfit due to the heavy tree cover. With a fly rod I could only do roll casts
Been back in Kansas since 2002 and enjoy crappie fishing, year around, again. Not to mention, the ability to catch bass larger than a couple pounds
my first crappie ever was in a duck pond in Pa. when I lived up there as a preteen .
never saw another or managed to ketch another until we moved back to where i was born here in Texas.
