So baitcast reels aren’t that difficult to use. I had watched many videos online and did some reading to figure it all out. The key for me is making sure for whatever lure/bait I have said bait doesn’t drop fast once press the spool release button. I have a lot of Lews baitcasters and like them. I started out on a Shakespeare I believe and it was just fine IMO. Hopefully somebody else will chime in. Good Luck! :fish

I have Lew’s and Qantum, but really like a couple I got at Bass pro years ago. They were Rick Clunn specials, I believe made by, or for, Bass Pro Shop.
But there are lots of reasonable options out there. Like BuckeyeCrappie said, tension adjustment is key
