Last winter I was fooling around salvaging some spinner parts that just didn't work out. I ended up with a pile of 0.029 wire that had an eye on one end but too short for making a spinner. This has probably been done before but I thought I'd share how to make some underspins and add a plastic keeper. I hope they will be worth a try. I love experimenting.

Took some barrel swivels and snipped open one end. Attached a blade and used needle nose to secure the blade on the barrel swivels. Should work. Thanks for the idea.

Nice work and looks like it should work just fine. I have a question though, of course I don't know if you pour your own heads or not, but if you do it seems you could add that to the head when you pour them?

Skip......I have a bunch of Cabela's jig heads from my old steelhead & walleye tying days 1/8 to 1/64 oz. Just using them up. I do pour my own and intend on doing some new pours soon. Mostly pony heads and a few others. I've had 2 new molds, freestyle & minnow head that need attention. I'll not be using the plastic keeper insert on them as I prefer hand ties. Just need to find the time before winter. I hate casting lead in the basement.Quote:
