Harris Chain Bluegill Help
Sorry for posting a Bluegill question in the Crappie forum, but I could use some advice. I've taken my 5 year old son fishing for the last 4 weekends on the lakes and we've netted 1 keeper. I've tried multiple spots on Beauclair, Dora, Carlton, Eustis and the canals in between. We tried all kinds of bait from worms, bread, crickets, soft plastics, beetle spin, etc. My son love to catch bluegill as my dad lives on a lake in Hawthorne and we'll pull 20-30 a day when we venture up there. I like fishing the Harris chain because it's so close to the house, but hate coming up empty every time. I know there are a lot of Harris chain users on the forum so helping someone can point me in the right direction. Not asking for specific spots just some general info on what signs I should be looking for when picking a spot (depth, Lilly pads, maiden cane, bait moving, etc.
Chances are you may have seen me out there, we're in a light blue Tidewater with white t tops. Any tips/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
