I've tried stren original gold, stren crappie mono yellow. Like them, not sure if I love them. Honey hole has a lot of izorline. Tried 8# florescent green in it. Seems to be a touch tougher. Anything out there way better? All I use is 8#

I use Stren 8# Hi Vis Gold....like it that I can see it good...buy it at BPS for $33 for 2500 yds....at that price you can replace it often without breaking the bank....I use 50# white braided Izorline for my bass rods....never broke one off....
What Prefers Shiners said!

I use 20# braid on everything for crappie. The color is just what you prefer. I use a leader most of the time of monofilament for Louisiana lakes. If I'm fishing clear lakes I use a fluorocarbon leader. I like the way braid fishes. It is very sensitive so as better to detect a light bite and doesn’t stretch which aids with a better hook set. About 10 years ago I tried to research line color and suprisingly most agreed red is the first color to become difficult to see in low light or murky conditions.

Which made me question the red hooks theory that supposedly indicate blood on a deep running crankbait.Quote:

I like Vicious Panfish hi-vis line ... most of my Crappie casting outfits are spooled with it. It's a copolymer line, not a "mono" line. I use 6# test and have yet to have a problem with "other & larger" fish breaking the line when I've caught them while fishing for Crappie.
Previous lines I've used were all in 4# test (Stren Gold, Mr Crappie, Trilene) and performed well, but just were not quite strong enough to bend open a #4 Aberdeen jig hook (what I was using at the time). Since I've gone up to a #2 Aberdeen jig hook on my 1/32oz & 1/16oz jigs, the 6# Vicious does seem to be a little better at freeing hung jigs.
Anybody tried the SOS HI-VIS Blue 6#line
Try slime line! I run it on my trolling poles 8 lb and love it
