Quick reel spooling question

I just ordered some P Line, kind of pricey but i think it's the best.
Anyway, wondering how much i really need to put on small, vertical jigging reels.
My max cast is really a flip of 15ft. But it needs to come off easily.

Also, while on the subject, ideas of avoiding line twist on spinning reels would be appreciated.

Brett, when I re-spool I pull off enough line from the reel that I would practically expect to cast plus half again for big fish drag pull. Then I cut it and tie on new with two uniknots. Don't think I've ever gotten into backing but even if I did odds are line would not break.I

We used PLine almost exclusively fishing for Salmon in Oregon.

spool up some superline..your choice..add a leader, say about 3'
you will be good for a long time
edit..you can change leader # test to suit your, quarry,water clarity,etc

Just put some backing on, and put a 50 yards or so on. P line was a good choice.

I use cheap mono for backing on all my reels.

I run braid, but only spool with 50-75 yards of main line. You don't want it to be too short, to avoid respooling too soon from breakoffs and retying.
