I wish I could load short videos , I got couple of short ones that are ok . I will try to post them on my little mini "you tub" channel …..:Rofl
Anyway let the ever fishee stories begin .
The truck ride was sloppy , the mud was ,well lets just say mud . the rain was steadily getting to be more and a big norther was blowing thru . Really poor conditions to ketch in most would tell ya .
The good news is I hit it prefront by about an hour and at first it wasn't raining terribly hard and it wasn't windy just yet .
First light first drop and bought got my rod taken out of my hand by a whopper slab who proceeded to school my not so ready rear end and escape my clutches by a hair ! :yikes
From there on I only lost one fish and it wasn't a crappie ,probably a hybrid striper as that lake has them and I stumbled into a shad spawn on the rocks and an ABSOLUTE fish FEEDING FRENZY ! The water was just a constant blow up along the shoreline and the crappie were flat out hammering the jigs . I imagine it wouldn't matter much what you dipped in the water but I used 3 different sizes and colors and got bit pretty much the same on all of them . As I got wetter and wetter I quit after about an hour and half at an even 35 crappie and 2 sand bass .
Sure was fun to get bit so hard I tell ya , nothing compares to bone jarring crappie thumps for sure . :highfive
I did foul hook one bluegill in the frenzy I forgot to mention and I released all the fish to go on with what they were up to before I stumbled into their little breakfast buffet .The fish that broke me off was likely not a sand bass as I can handle one on my rod even when they are large . It might have been a large black bass ,but I think more likely a hybrid striper , all I know is it marched on the hookset and went thru some brush on its way to open water and that was my friends the end of that :bash
As you can imagine I was wetting my jig in very short water with no float and it was good times no doubt . Until I hit them again ….
it could have happened just like that btw …..and as always
KABOOM is the word yawl and I aint fooling around :highfive
p.s. forgot to mention one of them BRAND NEW pink headed Sk handites got all wet in the rain with me ….:cheers2
