Quick Creek Trip
After finishing up an online Zoom meeting from my truck, I set out to do some wade fishing on my local creek. The water was up a little and would have been perfect for canoe fishing, but didn’t have the time for a float. It was still sprinkling when I got started and the fish were hungry. I went with my medium action Favorite Rods Jackhammer because I was targeting largemouth and spotted bass and the like to get wrapped up if you don’t haul them in fast. I ended up fishing a little over two hours and caught quite a few fish but no giants like I was looking for. I did however break off two good fish. It took me a little bit to figure out why. I had accidentally tied on a 4-lb FC leader instead of my normal 8-lb for this creek. The angular rocks are very rough on the light line when fishing on the bottom. It was a great day and it solidified in my mind that where the hole is in my fishing rod lineup. I have the Favorite Jackhammer for a medium action rod and I have two UL JDM rods and a Tict Rockin finesse, which to me feels lighter than my other JDM UL. That’s means I need a good light action rod. I think I know which one I want as well. It seems like y’all haven’t really had any issues shipping lately. I think I will place an order soon. Can’t wait!

Man now that is my kind of fishing there. A mixed bag of hungry shallow water fish. When you have a little fishing time on your hands nothing beats a creek trip.

Great story and as said a beautiful piece of water. Creek fishing is always a real fun way to give some fish a ride,. Good luck with your search for the “gap filler”.
