Planning on heading down Friday to try them again. Any reports on location to start looking? We tried the river end last time with no luck. I plan on staying mid lake to dam unless I hear otherwise. Thanks again

Went down Friday and fought the wind. West / NW winds on Murray are no joke. There was 2-3 foot swells and white capping all day. May have been roughest day on water ever in my boat including some nearshore fishing.
Improved on the last trip and worked the bottom to mid lake. Rode around marking fish before we sent Herring down. Caught fish at every spot we fished and marked but would usually only catch one or 2 at most. We were putting out 8 baits at a time so we used bait quickly. Ended up with 7 stripers and a huge chain pickerel.
Fishing spots were limited due to getting out of the wind.

Glad you caught some.
How big was the Picjerel? State record is 6# 4 ".
I didn’t weigh it but it was under that mark. If I had to take a guess it was between 4-5 lbs. I had only ever caught them in rivers where they were closer to 1-2 pounds at most.
