1/64 oz Jig the Pumpkinseed slammer
Well, I made it out yesterday with a fishing buddy and had no luck for the larger gamefish, bass and/or pike. So as I was working the bank with the trolling motor. I noticed a big high spot in front of the boat, 1-2 FOW there were some nice gills sunning themselves.
So I try on a new THE Jig, 1st red/white combo that Keith has tied. And boy-o-boy as soon as that little jig hit the water, 3 gills bull rushed it and the winner was.

So I snuck back up on them, without using a bobber with these little jigs. I could only throw it about 10 feet from the boat, BUT that is all it took. I fished the out skirts of the sunning fish not to spook them. And was rewarded by another sweet pumpkinseed.

The colors are just awesome! Once I finally could get THE Jig close enough for the sunners to see it, they would just firey swim over and inhale this little jig.

My buddy tied to use a little slip bobber to gain some casting distance, BUT in 1-2 FOW the bobber was spooking the fish so on down the bank we went. While heading back to the boat launch, my buddy was pulling along a THE orange/char JIG and all of a sudden, his bobber disappeared to yeild this sweet crappie.

Now, looky looky, the jig was just bearly hooked inside of the paper mouth.

There was no pulling this fish into the boat. I had to go over the side and grab and the crappie, no net yesterday being 1st time out in the boat. But, as soon as I got home, I put the big net and little net in the boat. ;)
If it's wet, it's catch'n!
C.P.R.- Catch, Picture, Release!
All fish were released to fight again another day.
