Trolling Plate

Have any of you tried a trolling plate on your outboard to slow your speed down? I will be using a 50 HP Tohatsu with variable idle speed and I want to get my troll speed down to 1 MPH- 1.5 MPH.

I used a Troll a matic trolling plate on a Yamaha 115 to pull crankbaits with for about 5 years.

Were you satisfied with it?

Danbo I have a homemade one that came with boat when I bought it. It works just like that one. More than satisfied with how it works. Same boat as yours just 50 Yamaha on mine.
