Smithville gave up a limit

But cost me a rod tip. Snapped the SHSS about a foot from the end on the third fish. Clipped off at the next eyelet and kept using it. Gonna need a new rod now.

Paradise was all out of minnows so it was jigs only. Turns out I didn't need 'em.

Biggest 7 were in the cooler, the rest in the bucket, but I didn't weigh. Most were 10-13"; a few 9½" but didn't have to measure any. No dinks today.

Electric chicken on a yellow roadrunner head, till that got torn up. Then a blue/chart slab buster.

64ºF water. Got to W boat ramp at around 3 and it was packed. Like....Memorial Day weekend packed. On a Thursday afternoon. Glad everyone was enjoying the outdoors!

you got on some, wish I knew you were out there would have come by and said hello, I got off the water about 8 and the ramp wasn't too bad, Tuesday pulled out at 5 and it was holiday weekend stupid. Bummer about the rod but sounds like you adapted. I came up 2 short of a limit, great day on the water, but I'm tired, threw them in the cooler, clean em in the morning. Attachment 373203

Nice catch Joe, the ramps have been crazy down here too. Sometimes I think it would be fun just to sit and watch the boat ramp all day. lol

The smaller ramp at Truman was packed yesterday too, but running like a machine when we pulled out. 2 on the ramp and at least 4 in line non stop, parked up and down the road.
