Would strongly consider Garmin products. Especially when the mapping is included. Have 2 Garmin 93sv and have no complaints. Over the years I've owned several of most popular brands and feel like my money is well spent on Garmin.
Although I do feel like they are all too pricey.
Garmin Echomap 73SV UHD
Another vote for the Garmin. Price, features, & quality.
theysaid Garmin !!! they also have excellent tech support !!!
I would find a used unit with some great features myself . a well taken care of high dollar unit will be cheap these days with a crashing economy and the newest bestest technology and the list goes on .
heck if its a local unit it might even have a bunch of stored way points on your area lakes ,,,,it could happen
bet you can find a 1500 dollar unit from a year or 2 ago really cheap and really easily ….just saying
my 3 cents
I've never been one to buy used but that makes a lot of scenes I'll look around see what I can find
The small units I have now are garmin
I have also been looking at upgrading. I have done alot of looking. I think I'm about ready to pull the plug & buy the Garmin 93sv. Seems easier to use & I don't have to buy mapping like I would have to with hummingbird.
I currently have Lowrance at console but have not been happy with it since I got it. I have helix 5di up front which I need to keep because it is compatible with my minn kota trolling motor. I might consider upgrading it sometime down the road.

Personally I would go with Humminbird helix 7 for your price range. The 7” Humminbird has the same resolution as the 9” garmin which would give you better detail. The 93sv you would have to get the plus and not the new UHD within your budget and I think you would prefer the UHD if using for SI and DI. Only reason I would do the garmin is if livescope might be a possibility for you.
