Central Kansas lakes

Hey everyone! I have been fishing primarily milford lake, but have been struggling recently finding fish other than in marinas. They aren’t relating to the little standing timber we have anymore either. I know this weather has them somewhat scattered. Not looking for your honeyholes but any advice on areas to look on the lake that are hot during this 49-52° water temp range! I only have a budget friendly 9” Garmin, so I don’t get the best pictures with SV and 2D sonar.
Also, if anyone has any other recommendations on lakes with structure within an hour & a half of JC/Manhattan area I’m all ears. Fishing these midwest lakes is fairly new to me, coming from TN fishing reelfoot and Sardis lake in MS.
I’d love to find the best crappie guy on the lake and ask to go out with him, but I can’t seem to find him [emoji23]

Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, Geary doesn’t have the strongest crappie population right now, and lately it’s seemed to be pretty packed.

They've been stacked in the Marina's lately and on points outside of coves, we also caught a lot of them in cast nets (trying to net shad) along the face of the causeway a couple weekends ago. When trolling along watch for a series of fish all at the same depth

I am aware of them being stacked in Marinas, and I probably have almost every brush pile marked and fished in the southern half of the lake. I’m looking for other lakes that the crappie grow over 15” near here other than Tuttle and Geary.
Fishing at marinas is like shooting them in a barrel. No challenge. I do much better all year long fishing them suspended on brush piles throughout the lake.

Check out KDWPT website, and their annual magazine that's free at Walmart etc. Shows every lake in Ks and fish "crappie" info. Once you find the lakes that suit your needs all you have to worry about is the Ks wind.
