I decided to try out my* Owner Acorn floats at the Normandy Tailrace for trout....can't get to my bluegill waters just yet. Chris has tested these out with the 1 and 1.5 gram Daiwa Gekkabijin jig heads. Here is what he has to say about them "A 1g Gekkabijin jig head and soft plastic will sink the float to the line at the bottom of the yellow stripe on the float. The 1.5g Gekkabijin jig head and soft plastic will sink the float to the line at the top of the yellow stripe.
The fluorescent orange top makes them quite visible, so whether or not the yellow stripe is above the surface, the orange tp makes the float very easy to see in either still or moving water." His assessment is spot on. I put one on.....got the depth right for fishing the Trout Magnet as the current pulled it down stream. These things are great...you can tell immediately a trout has nosed the TM...set the hook and game on. I caught 19 trout and the best part is 10 of them were at the 13 inch mark. This was a ton of fun on the Banshee Super Ultra Light. I am hoping that the rain..wind really old off for this coming week so I can at least try to fish my old haunts....that's providing the state does not get locked down.*???Regards
