Yes it is the same concept but moving at a faster speed. Most people use from 1 oz to 3 oz weight. They adjust there speed so the line is no greater than a 45 degree in the water. Easy to calculate your depth this way. You can also push crank baits this way. The main advantage to this is if you find fish you can stay on them faster.

Of course one of the main disadvantages of this method is that the jigs or crankbaits find that hidden brushpile BEFORE it shows up on the graph!! :banghead
