Even though i am not great at dock fishing by any means, that is exactly the way to catch crappie on hartwell until they spawn. I would try the eastanole creek area or lightwood log area though. With the warm weather this week, there should be shallow fish in every creek now. Trolling for me , does not produce very well on Hartwell compared to the other lakes i go to.
My buddy and I are headed down that way this weekend and we are new to the lake too. We'll be up the river a ways, so won't be stealing your spots Plowboy :fish. But just wanted to give you a heads up that there is a big Crappie USA tourney out of Green Pond ramp, so you may want to stay away from that area. Any info on lake conditions KHNC?
Tournament was postponed ... I know cause I was supposed to be in it lol. Bummer

Well I hate that Wylie. Thanks for the info!
Most of the creeks are heavily stained and 58-59 degrees as of last Sunday.
