Blackshear
I’m trying to learn to crappie fish Lake Blackshear been going a few times between rains, seems to me from observing others that the most productive is Spyder Rigging. Would like to get some recommendations on what brand rod holders to purchase and any other tips would be appreciated Thanks In advance.

You will get a half dozen different answers to which brand is best.rotfl
I use Driftmaster rod holders, and I have my boat setup to go from Long-lining to Spider Rigging in about 5 minutes. That being said I rarely spider rig (or Push as its also known)
90% of my crappie fishing is long-lining the other is vertical jigging and dock shooting.
For long lining I use 12 rods, 8 in the front in lengths of 13', 10', 8' and 6'6", out the back I run 2 8' rods and 2 7' rods. If you don't have Autopilot/Ipilot system this is tough to do by yourself as you will be running back and forth in the boat. I pair my rods with Shimano XLR 2000 reels spooled with hi-vis 6 lb line
For jigs I like South Pro Hot Grubs, Bobby Garland Baby Shads, Kalins, and Charlie Brewer Sliders and Jiffy Jigs. I use jig heads in the 1/48, 1/32, and 1/16 size, sometimes I run double jigs, but mostly run a single 1/16 and a #7 or 3/0 split **** about 18 inches up the line.
Cast out your lines and troll between .8 and 1.0 to find what speed the fish want.
Welcome to the board, any specific questions let me know. I fish Blackshear a lot, so if you see a blue tracker boat named "Crappie Attitude" troll over and say hi.

Look for the Litewirehook boat and I will be longlineing. Will be there as soon as water settles little.
