I have a 999si and a Helix 10 di. I have ran to a group 24 starting battery that is also use to start the motor. Twice I’ve ran down by end of the day and couldn’t start the engine. I have a group 31 I’ll be putting on this week to hopefully solve my problem. My question is how many amps do these units pull? It must be a lot to drain my battery like that. Battery is good , less than a year old, and I’ve load tested it.

HELIX 10 uses a 3amp fuse so it’s draw is less than that ...
999 would be even less ...

Wiring size? Connections between charts and battery? Live wells, aerators, lights, etc.? All accounted for and checked?

Yep checked over everything. I think the battery is just too small. I’m going to leave that one just to start motor. I’m going to add a 31 for everything else. Trolling motor is 24 volt and has its own batteries.
Some has been pulling that battery down though. I always charge when I get back home , and in two weeks it’s dead. So I make sure to top it off the night before fishing. It had 13.6 in it when I left Saturday morning and 10 when I tried to leave to lake.

Modern day chargers are made to be plugged in when you get home and leave them plugged in until time to go fishing again. This also prolongs battery life.
I think your battery is bad load testing does NOT always show a bad battery. Unhook battery charge it check voltage let sit for a day or two and recheck voltage it should not be below 12.5 if it is she is a gonner. I had 3 brand new Deka batteries go bad in less then 18 months they checked fine under load but when they sat they would self drain..

Helix 10 DI and similar 10's are all 2.7 amps per the data sheet.
3.8 amps over say 8 hours of fishing will kill a starting battery. A 1 amp draw is about like a dome light before LED. Marine starting batteries are a blend of deep cycle and starting and marine batteries hold up better to jarring. Marine starting batteries will not last long when being drawn like that. you should consider a seperate battery for your electronics. I would look for one around 100AH so you can have 2 long days of fishing between charges.
