Went today, it was my first time there also. The power plant was not running. Not sure if that makes a difference or not but i didn't do any good at all. From what i could see and askin around to boat ramp no one was catching anything. I could mark some fish but couldn't put them in the cooler. Tried a jig and cork, trolling with jigs and minnows. Hope you have better luck than i did. Oh yea i stayed up near the power plant.
Check out 3pound fishing on you tube he fishes Egypt a lot and has a bunch of videos on it
How deep where you fishing and what was water temp? I have trip planned in a few weeks ,this will be my first visit too
I fished about 3 or 4 feet deep in the morning, then up to 20' that afternoon. It was a really nice day for a boat ride( sunny blue bird skies). Water was about 56deg.
I would believe that the crappie there are scattering out about now but if you can find deeper brush you may hook up on a few.

Southern Illinois Crappie Association had a 2 day tournament on LOE last week. Check out their facebook page for the results.
buddy fishes there quite a bit and IF the wind is blowing he like to go to bank wind is blowing into and stays off of that and pitches roadrunner to shore and brings it back till he finds depth as they usually will have bait fish pushed against it and crappie will be back from there feeding off of them. or use electronics to find where they are holding.
