Howdy from Louisiana
Drove over from Atlanta Tuesday. Got to work on my sons house Wednesday morning. Three days of demo and framing the new walls and today was for figuring out the old electrical and start running new. Got about half of it done and plan on finishing that tomorrow as well as fetching the drywall for Monday morning.
Cabinets for the new kitchen should be here next week and we should have the drywall done and be ready to install then by Saturday. The only "casualty"so far is when I was trying to ram set a bottom plate and the stupid thing wouldn't fire. I wound up and took a swing like Boog Powell hitting a homer out of Tiger Stadium. Except I wiffed on the ram set and hit my hand instead. OUCH! Nothing broken just a swollen hand.
Hope to get on the water next week in between coats of drywall mud. Pictures to follow.

On the way from Atlanta to Louisiana we stopped in Vicksburg and went thru the Vicksburg national military park. Pretty humbling when you see the trenches of the battlefield and reflect on the cost...of special interest is the USS Cairo on display. Amazing what man could engineer back then. Hoping to get some fishing in soon. Need to get a little farther on the house first.Attachment 366875Attachment 366876Attachment 366877Attachment 366878Attachment 366879Attachment 366880Attachment 366881

Heading home this morning. We got the replacement cabinet yesterday and finished up installing the last of the cabinets and the final coat of paint in the dining room. Loaded the tools after dinner and just need to toss a few things in the truck and hit the road. I'm ready for some canal crappie fishing when we get home.

Rolled in just shy of midnight. Easy trip with light traffic. Not a roll of toilet paper to be had between Louisiana and Michigan.
